I can't believe I'm starting my podcast ranting, like I know this is something I wanted to do. Nobody sent me a message. I just decided one day that I'm going to start my podcast. , but then nobody told me about the challenges that are going to come with it.
I'm not even talking about it. The challenge of running a podcast. Okay. I'll explain. So I'll set up the home studio. Now time to record the introductory audio. See, I've done everything I should do appropriately, but then nobody told me that. Parenting as beautiful and awesome as it is, is going to require special commitment. See, I've been in this business for a long time of parenting, and having a regular job in addition to doing other stuff. But then podcast requires a quiet space. That means I have to be waking up at midnight, recording podcasts when everyone is asleep or when the kids are away. Away where? Because I have to go with them. Where are they going that I won't follow them to? Okay, maybe when the four-year-old is going to her nursery But then the one that is one How do you establish quiet in the home?
Guys, I had trouble getting a home studio. when I was researching about starting a podcast, a few people recommended I get a proper studio, like. The Nearest studio to me is in another city How will I be traveling to another city when I'm trying to get extra time to do other things?
I said Okay. I'm going to do this on my own. That is how I went and bought equipment. I gathered small, small, you know, so I can start the journey because this is something I want to do, guys. This is something I love. I'm a stress management coach.
I've been doing this in the past five years, you know, and the awareness isn't there. And I've seen what they are doing in global wellness. , I want to bring that down to Africa so it will suit us, you know, and then the African professionals don't really have something, especially for them, which is why I said, okay, is in a, you're going to do stress and wellness podcast for the African professional.
That is what sends me a message. So I decided, okay, I want a situation where I drive the conversation on stress and wellness. I've been reading lots of things in the wellness industry and I just want to share them. You know, when you read about, oh, there are certain hotels that are now introducing wellness packages because that is what customers are now looking for. I want to talk about, ah, Are hotels in Africa doing the same thing? Are hotels in Nigeria, which is where I come from, are they doing the same thing?
I want to drive these conversations. Or something like when I watched the movie, The Blue Zone. ways to live up to a hundred. I think they shot videos of different communities in certain countries where people are living up to the nineties, hundreds, without chronic diseases.
So I want to ask us, to talk about things like, Oh, even where I come from in my village, there are certain things they did in that blue zone movie that is similar to what I do in my village. So does it mean I'm going to go back to my village? So I will leave a hundred, you know?
So these are the kinds of things that got me really excited. Talk more about the things I've learned over the years as a stress management coach. Now you see what sent me a message and now it didn't occur to me that Recording a podcast is different from just creating content on social media because I need that Quiet.
I need that atmosphere where by the time I finish recording, people are like, Oh, the audio sounds crisp and clear. How will you explain crisply and clearly when there's background noise, when there are people jumping on the beds, when there's someone shouting, Mommy, mommy.
Oh my goodness. I know there are certain things I bargained for. Well, this is one what do you think I'm going to do? Nothing more than to move with the flow. So here I am hosting the number one stress and wellness podcast in Africa. That's when you're talking about the health and wellness industry, my own pops up for the African continent.
This is just me introducing myself that I'm Ezinne. You can call me Dr. E. I am currently working in accident and emergency. As of 2023 when you're listening to this podcast, my situation is going to change.
So if you hear any noise in my background, please bear with me. This is part of my journey against all odds if I push it I'm denying somebody of something thing they should be having at that particular time.
So no more delay. I am coming as I am. I am an African professional like you guys. So please take me as I am. And I'm sure that you're going to grasp all the content from this. I have a lineup of guests that are coming. So I'm bringing wellness experts. In the African space to come and share their experiences, then we all learn together.
The theme of this podcast should have been fun, relaxed, and entertaining.
I don't know, and educated, sorry. I don't know if I delivered relaxed. How do I deliver that book? So guys, take me as I am. Welcome to De-stress with Dr. E. Thanks for riding with me.
